Let the Sunshine In

I found a new blog called "Oh, Write Me" a couple of weeks ago and discovered there are a host of people out there who still have a love of the hand-written letter.  I started following this blog and this week my new pen-pal sent me a hand-written letter along with this very pretty hand-made postcard.  So pretty ... I had to frame it!  I placed it in my bathroom near my side of the sink so I can be reminded to let the sun shine in ... even when it's raining.

Thank you, Bobbie, for such a thoughtful act of kindness.  I look forward to writing back and forth with you!

Happy Friday to everyone. What a week.  I'm so happy the sun is shining today.  I'm not sure I could take another gray day ....

love, Susan

  1. Dear, kind, open, wonderful, Susan! You made my day. Your sweet, touching, handmade card just arrived. I so love those irises! Their arms are raised to the heavens in unison. Hand-made is more special, don't you think?

Your handwriting is lovely. Your signature is quite distinctive. And, you are right. "No act of kindness, no matter small, is ever wasted." Especially so with me.

I'm genuinely touched that you liked my efforts enough to frame and hang the message that often keeps me going. Thank you, with all my heart. If Archiver's had more of the paper, I'd make one for myself. :)

  3. Susan,

I found you on Limner's beautiful blog and popped over to have a peek. Lovely! Keep up the great posts.

Yes, there are too many (snail mail) letter writers out there to ever let this art die. Let the sunshine in, artists everywhere!

You Made My Day, Dude!

A couple weeks ago while I was driving back to Portland after spending the night on the Oregon coast, we came up on some road construction ...
