I wish we had a place like Bonnie's here!

It is highly likely I won't be going back to FB even after the elections. I honestly don't miss a thing about it.Suddenly Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12483813654827621158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3657625150805629106.post-23084256857622243142012-09-27T19:30:05.508-07:002012-09-27T19:30:05.508-07:00We thought about you today. We had the same quirky waitress from when you were here and missed you. =/

I get it about needing to disentangle from all of the technology. Sometimes, when I need to think, I turn my phone to vibrate and put it in the other room. It might be only for an hour or two, but it's amazing what I can accomplish when I'm not checking my leash.

BTW, I still don't miss FB. You might go back after the election, but I don't think I will.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16382877280771399496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3657625150805629106.post-13898867458982493692012-09-27T06:27:01.112-07:002012-09-27T06:27:01.112-07:00I enjoyed reading your post so much ! And friends keep asking me "why?",and I say "why not?" :)) Yes,technology does takes us away from simple pleasures and from "living in the moment". You know, after cutting down on social visits and calls, I got so much more out of life...there were friends who would call only to tell their sob stories without caring that I too have a life and issues...So, I cut down on certain calls...It was hard at first, but after 2-3 years, I feel that I am in a more positive mindset and grateful to life more than ever before.
I do long for friendships and good company but not at the cost of mindless conversations and meaningless relationships. It is hard to say "no" to friends but then maybe we can limit our activities and choose whom we want to talk to and what we want to see/read in the internet more often. And this "choice" liberates us ! It also helps us to know and develop ourselves better instead of being swayed away by outside forces!
have a nice day !Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17363854783134050594noreply@blogger.com
